CMS Nurses Scholarship Scheme

The Nurses Scholarship Scheme was launched on Friday 19th March 2004 as part of the CMS one day symposium, "Living Loving Laughing - Caring for young children and their families" which was held to celebrate QEII's 40th birthday.  Many of those present were moved by the impact QEII had made in the lives of so many families in Canberra and the surrounding region and were appreciative of the professional and caring staff who had supported them. The importance of maintaining this high standard and professionalism of the workforce was recognised and supported.

The purpose of the Nurses Scholarship Scheme is to provide finanical support to our staff to enable them to complete professional development, study and research in the form of tertiary award and short term non-award courses. This will ensure QEII maintains an ongoing reputation as a centre of primary health care excellence.

The aim is to raise $200,000 which will provide a perpetual scholarship that will enable two staff members to study annually. This will be administered by the CMS Board so please donate what you can, as this is certainly an investment in the future as we continue to help young children and their families.

CMS, a not for profit organisation, is grateful for your support.  We are continually fundraising with craft stalls, raffles and the sale of our book "Keepsakes from Mother's Table" (see What's New at QEII for a review of the book) Each donation makes a difference by enabling the CMS to provide residential and non-residential health care programs for families of young children.
