At CMS we take our responsibility to be good corporate citizens seriously and are connected to our community through the following activities:
Thursday Friendship Group at Addicted to Fabric
The members of this private friendships group make and donate hand-made quilts to CMS and we, in turn, give them to families in need. Group members, fabric suppliers and CMS provide materials to support the group’s work.
Richmond Fellowship of the ACT—Youth Refuges
This organisation provides accommodation services to young people aged 11 to 18 years who are unable to live at home with their family. Since 2002, QEII staff and CMS have donated gifts at Christmas and Easter for each resident. Through our staff social club, we also give a Christmas ‘group house’ gift each year.
Abbeyfield House in Garran is a community house for older residents. Abbeyfield House in Curtin is a community house for residents with a disability. We share Christmas and Easter with residents at both houses and donate a hamper and Easter goodies for the residents of both houses.
Focusing on families with young children
We wish to acknowledge the Ngunnawal people as the traditional owners and custodians of the land on which CMS and its service are located, and their Elders past and present.
