Canberra Mothercraft Society,

Safety and quality

Your safety, and providing you and your family with quality care services are important to us at QEII, in everything we do.

This program is really terrific and tailored to families. We were especially impressed by the way the midwives responded to our daily comments and feedback. We felt listened to.

– Merilyn and Angus

We’re 100 per cent committed and focused on you, our client. At QEII, safety and quality is everyone’s business and all staff contribute to the care we provide.

This means we:

  • provide care centred on you
  • are active in getting you the help you need
  • involve all levels of staff in your care
  • provide care that meets your needs, so it’s effective and appropriate
  • fit our services with your values
  • provide adequate resources
  • continually monitor our performance and look for new and better ways of doing things for you.

We’re guided by and accredited to the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards. We also meet the Quality Innovation Performance Corporate Governance and Safety and Physical Environment standards.

Big thanks to the staff who kept all the sleep-deprived, starving parents fed and to the cleaning staff who keep the place spotless despite all these babies running around.

– Jo

Our Safety and quality plan is aligned with our vision, mission, goals and priorities.

As part of our Risk management plan we aim to identify risks early and solve them quickly. We also produce clinical indicator reports to review our performance and chart our progress.

As part of our commitment to safety and quality we listen what clients say they need and how they feel about our programs and services. You can provide us with feedback – complaints, compliments and suggestion – by email, in person, by phone or by letter.

Helping families thrive

We wish to acknowledge the Ngunnawal people as the traditional owners and custodians of the land on which CMS and its services at QEII are located, and their Elders past and present.
