Opening of six new beds at QEII Family Centre

The Health Minister, Simon Corbell, officially opened 3 new family suites, each with two beds, at the Queen Elizabeth II Family Centre on Friday 2 October. This allows for an extra 500 admissions a year and means the Centre is now operating at full capacity. This expansion in the service was made possible by the provision of ACT Government funding in the 2015 budget. This funding will cover the costs of an extra 5.4 full-time equivalent staff and the additional furnishings and equipment required to accommodate the increase.
