Parliamentary Friends for Maternal Health

Canberra Mothercraft Society is proud to support Parliamentary Friends for Maternal Health, an initiative of Maternal Health Matters. The group, co-chaired by Alicia Payne MP, Llew O’Brien MP, and Helen Haines MP, aims to shine a light on women’s right to access respectful maternity care and how we can get the best outcomes for mothers, babies, families and our nation.

The first Parliamentary Friends Forum for Maternal Health was held on 7 September 2023 and the group discussed on the importance of maternal health. On 15 August 2024, the Australian Parliamentary Group for Maternal Health hosted a session on Improving outcomes for First Nations mothers and babies in Australia.
